Other Wearables Connection Guide

Supported Devices

FivePointFive works with any wearable that broadcasts heart rate over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). This includes chest straps, optical arm bands, and watches with BLE HR broadcast mode.

Polar

  • Polar Verity Sense ✅ (optical arm band — broadcasts HR automatically via Bluetooth)
  • Polar H10 ✅ (chest strap — broadcasts HR automatically via Bluetooth)
  • Polar H9 ✅ (chest strap — broadcasts HR automatically via Bluetooth)

COROS

  • COROS PACE 3
  • COROS PACE 2
  • COROS VERTIX 2
  • COROS APEX 2
  • COROS Heart Rate Monitor ✅ (chest strap)

Suunto

  • Suunto Smart Belt ✅ (chest strap)

Wahoo

  • Wahoo TICKR ✅ (chest strap)
  • Wahoo TICKR X ✅ (chest strap)
  • Wahoo TICKR FIT ✅ (arm band)

Other BLE Heart Rate Devices

Any device that broadcasts as a standard BLE Heart Rate sensor (Bluetooth Heart Rate Profile, UUID 0x180D) should work with FivePointFive, even if it’s not listed above.

Unsupported Devices

Samsung Galaxy Watch (all models) ❌

Samsung Galaxy Watch does not support standard BLE Heart Rate Broadcast.

Smart Rings (none are supported) ❌

Smart rings don’t broadcast live HR as a standard BLE Heart Rate sensor — they sync data via their own app/cloud, so they can’t be used for live in-session capture.

  • Oura Ring (all models)
  • Ultrahuman Ring (all models)
  • Samsung Galaxy Ring (all models)

ANT+ Only Devices ❌

Devices that only broadcast heart rate over ANT+ are not supported. Phones cannot detect ANT+ signals. If your device does not appear in FivePointFive, it may be ANT+ only.

How to Connect Your Device to FivePointFive

Summary

To connect your BLE heart rate device to FivePointFive:

  1. Put on your device and ensure it’s broadcasting HR over Bluetooth
  2. Check Bluetooth permissions on your phone
  3. Connect to class heart rate in the FivePointFive app

Step 1 — Start Your Device

Polar Verity Sense / H10 / H9

  • Verity Sense: Clip it on your arm. It broadcasts HR automatically via Bluetooth when worn.
  • H10 / H9: Wet the electrode pads and put on the chest strap. It broadcasts HR automatically via Bluetooth when worn.

COROS Watches

  1. On your COROS watch, go to Settings
  2. Select Heart Rate Monitor
  3. Enable HR Broadcast

Wahoo TICKR / TICKR X / TICKR FIT

  • Put on the strap (wet electrode pads if chest strap). The device broadcasts HR automatically via Bluetooth when worn.

Suunto Smart Belt

  • Wet the electrode pads and put on the chest strap. It broadcasts HR automatically via Bluetooth when worn.

Other BLE Devices

  • Consult your device’s manual for how to enable Bluetooth Heart Rate Broadcast. Most chest straps and optical sensors broadcast automatically when worn.

Step 2 — Check Bluetooth Permissions on Your Phone

  1. Open Settings on your phone
  2. Open Privacy & Security
  3. Open Bluetooth
  4. Find FivePointFive
  5. Ensure the toggle is ON

Step 3 — Connect to Class Heart Rate in the FivePointFive App

  1. Open the FivePointFive app
  2. Select your class card
  3. Tap the class heart rate button
  4. Tap Record HR with other wearable
  5. Under Bluetooth Devices, tap your device
  6. When the heart rate circle button appears with digits on it (this may take a few seconds), tap Join class

Step 4 — After Class

  • In FivePointFive: end your class after you receive AI Coach feedback and HR performance results
  • For chest straps and arm bands: simply remove the device to stop broadcasting
  • For watches: disable HR Broadcast in your watch settings

Important Tips

  • FivePointFive connects via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) only. ANT+ is not supported.
  • Most chest straps and optical sensors (Polar, Wahoo, Suunto) broadcast HR automatically when worn — no extra setup needed.
  • COROS watches require you to manually enable HR Broadcast in settings.
  • If your device doesn’t appear, ensure it’s powered on, worn, and not connected to another fitness app.
  • If you still can’t connect, take a screenshot of the Bluetooth wearable list in the app and share it with us via Instabug, or contact support@fivepointfive.com.

Troubleshooting

Device not appearing in FivePointFive

  1. Is it BLE? Confirm your device supports Bluetooth Low Energy heart rate broadcast (not ANT+ only)
  2. Is it on and worn? The device needs to be powered on and detecting a heart rate to broadcast
  3. Check Bluetooth permissions: Ensure FivePointFive has Bluetooth permission enabled in your phone’s Settings
  4. Close other apps: If another fitness app is actively connected to your device via Bluetooth, it may prevent FivePointFive from detecting it
  5. Move closer: Bring your phone closer to the device during scanning

Smart ring or Samsung Galaxy Watch?

These devices are not supported. Smart rings sync data via their own apps and do not broadcast live HR over BLE. Samsung Galaxy Watch does not support standard BLE Heart Rate Broadcast.
