- In FivePointFive: end your class after you receive AI Coach feedback and HR performance results
Important Tips
- Garmin uses Bluetooth only — ANT+ is not supported by FivePointFive.
- You must enable Broadcast HR on the watch every time you join a class.
- If you don’t see your device, take a screenshot of the Bluetooth wearable list in the app and share it with us via Instabug, or contact support@fivepointfive.com.
Troubleshooting
1. The watch isn’t in Broadcast Mode
By default, the watch only uses Bluetooth to talk to the Garmin Connect app. To let FivePointFive see it, you must manually start a broadcast.
How to fix: On the watch, hold UP → Health & Wellness → Wrist Heart Rate → Broadcast Heart Rate → Press Start.
Result: The watch will now appear in your app’s Bluetooth device list as a heart rate monitor.
2. The Bluetooth channel is busy
Some Garmin models (e.g. Forerunner 255) can only maintain one Bluetooth sensor connection at a time.
The problem: If the watch is already connected to another app (like Zwift or Peloton) on a different device via Bluetooth, it will be invisible to FivePointFive.
How to fix: Ensure no other training apps are open and actively paired to the watch’s Bluetooth signal.
3. Permission and pairing conflicts
If the watch is paired directly in the phone’s system Bluetooth settings, FivePointFive might not be able to access the data stream.
How to fix:
- Permissions: Ensure FivePointFive has “Nearby Devices” or “Bluetooth” permissions enabled in your phone’s settings.
- Don’t pair via Phone menu: Do not pair the watch in the phone’s main Bluetooth menu. Only pair it within the FivePointFive app or Garmin Connect.
- Battery Saver: Ensure Battery Saver mode is off on the watch, as it can disable Bluetooth to save power.
